Founded in 2021, TeachAAPI is a national nonprofit ensuring that Asian American and PacificIslander (AAPI) stories and identities are deeply woven into the fabric of American education.Partnering with pre-K to 12th schools across ten states and serving more than fifty schools todate, TeachAAPI provides educators with culturally responsive lesson plans, toolkits, andprograms- including an AAPI Curriculum Library, Book Club, Preschool Activity Boxes, YouthSummit, and Cultural Celebrations. Through these initiatives, TeachAAPI empowers educatorsto teach with confidence and cultural understanding, helping students lead with curiosity,empathy, and courage. At its core, TeachAAPI believes that when every student can seethemselves in the American story, we create a more connected and inclusive future for all.
TeachAAPI seeks its first Executive Director to guide the organization through its next stage ofgrowth, sustainability, and national reach. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ExecutiveDirector will be a hands-on, results-oriented leader who brings structure and discipline to theorganization’s development and fundraising efforts- building systems, cultivating funders, andturning relationships into sustained support.
In the first six months, the leader will focus on establishing a strong fundraising infrastructure,deepening existing donor relationships, and creating a systematic approach to engagement,reporting, and measurement. Over time, they will expand their focus to program strategy,partnership building, and organizational scaling- leading a small, passionate team andcollaborating with the Educator Advisory Board to ensure TeachAAPI’s educational programsremain mission-aligned, impactful, and ready for national expansion.
TeachAAPI is a remote organization with a preference for candidates based in California, ideallyin the Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area, where many of its school and communitypartnerships are concentrated. New York–based candidates will also be considered, given theorganization’s growing presence and relationships there.
The salary range for this position is $130,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience, alongwith a comprehensive benefits package.
